Yven Scholz has been named head of electronic trading & services at Allianz Global Investors. Prior to his promotion, Scholz was a multi-asset derivatives trader & head of trading technology.
“I am feeling incredibly grateful for my recent promotion to head of electronic trading & services at Allianz Global Investors,” he wrote in a statement. “It’s an honour to continue growing with a team that values innovation and excellence. Thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me along the way. We are eager to continue our shared journey towards innovation and success.”
Scholz has taken an unusual path into trading, having first worked with the German investment giant as an IT consultant, developing its systems to support compliance with Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the European Market and Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), before becoming an associate vice president in 2019. Previously he had worked in capital markets technology, having initially interned at Accenture in 2012.
He was named head of trading technology in 2022 and has been responsible for the development of automated trading processes and work on autonomous trading AI.
