Morgan Stanley has appointed Tom Nickalls as a trader within its emerging markets credit team, effective August. He is based in London.

Nickalls has more than a decade of industry experience, all of which has been spent at Ninety One. He joined the firm as a client operations analyst in 2013, before becoming a portfolio implementation analyst in 2015 and a fixed income trader in 2018.

In his latest role, Nickalls was responsible for executing the CEEMEA emerging market credit book, both sovereign and corporate.

Commenting on his departure from Ninety One via LinkedIn, Nickalls said: “It has been quite the journey, joining a couple of weeks after leaving university and staying my entire career until now.

“I knew almost nothing when I joined, but got my head down, and with the support of the people around me was able to move through the company and eventually land on the trading desk. I genuinely enjoyed every day that I came into work, and it was my colleagues that were the real reason for that – so thank you to everyone that I have worked with along the way.”
