Capital market analyst firm Coalition Greenwich has hired Jesse Forster as a senior analyst on its market structure and technology team.

In his new role, Forster will draw on his 20-plus years overall in equity market structure and technology to lead the firm’s equity market structure research function.

“We are excited to welcome Jesse, who will bring immediate value our clients through his deep expertise in algorithmic trading, analytics and equity market structure and extensive experience advising both global asset managers and broker-dealers on market structure and trading-related solutions,” says Dan Connell, head of Coalition Greenwich market structure & technology.

Before joining Coalition Greenwich, Forster built and launched a new electronic equities platform at Berenberg Capital Markets focused on healthy venue selection and fee-agnostic order routing. Prior to that, he was a senior member of the equities trading teams at EvercoreISI and Instinet, focused on global asset manager and broker-dealer clients. He began his career as a management consultant with the PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Services & Technology practice, where he developed strategic analyses on operational issues such as T+1 settlement, Y2K and bank consolidation.

Over the course of his career, Forster has advised a broad range of clients on issues including fragmented markets, inefficient routing, inaccessible liquidity, new order types and trading venues, regulatory pilot programs, and Reg NMS.

“I am thrilled to join Coalition Greenwich, where I will have an opportunity to have a direct positive impact by helping our clients understand and navigate changes to a rapidly evolving equity market structure,” he said.
