RBC Capital Markets has appointed James Taunton as head of public sector origination for Europe. He reports to Alex Caridia, global head of public sector markets, and locally to Rob Lamb, head of European debt capital markets.
In the London-based role, Taunton will manage the firm’s sovereign, supranational and agency (SSA) business in all currencies from European SSA clients. Working with the Global Markets team, he will build euro momentum in the issuer base.
Taunton has been with RBC Capital Markets since 2011, when he was appointed as an associate within the debt capital markets division. He became a vice president in 2017, and a director in 2020.
