Eric Morrow joins Apollo Global Management

Eric Morrow has been named chief operations officer (COO) of trading at Apollo Global Management, an asset manager with US$550 billion of assets under management (AUM).

Morrow has a strong background across analytics and trading. He spent 14 years at Citi, joining the firm as an analyst in 2005 working in its mutual fund business on process reengineering, before moving into an analyst role within the credit default swap and leveraged loan business, becoming a vice president in the rates business, then head of analytics, data and product within global credit markets. During this period he co-founded a Citi Ventures funded start-up – Vantage Analytics – which was designed to improve the distribution of and collaboration on market analytics and trade ideas within global credit markets.

He left Citi in 2019 to join JP Morgan where he was executive director of business development and eTrading, digital markets, before being poached by Apollo. Morrow holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and has a BA in economics from the University of Maryland. Apollo Global Management made US$584 million profit in Q4 2022 but a US$3.2 billion loss for the year.
