Fixed income execution and analytics services provider Ediphy has unveiled a new cloud-based data management as a service offering. The DESK speaks to CEO Chris Murphy to learn more…
Ediphy VDM integrates and normalises fixed income data from multiple sources, overcoming fixed income data management issues associated with disparate formats and protocols, expensive implementation processes, and lack of lineage to original data.
Ediphy CEO and founder Chris Murphy told The DESK: “VDM provides a single interface to any fixed income data set. It provides data adapters to ingest and store each source in its native format and then provides cleaning, enrichment and translation of the data to enable consumption of the combined data via a common API. Clients can also deploy their own analytics on the VDM, creating custom statistics which are consumed via the same API.”
By adapting a wide variety of database technologies depending on what suits a particular dataset, full lineage and transparency is maintained without dropping data. Advanced omnitemporal capabilities enable the platform to handle both real-time and historical data.
The service also enables the capture of internal or outbound data streams and the management of bidirectional data exchange agreements. By centralising data management within a single service, consumers of fixed income data can reduce complexity and enhance operational efficiency with faster time-to-market of new data.
Murphy continued: “Ediphy VDM creates efficiencies for clients by building and running the data adapters for multiple parties and managing things like data storage and schema changes, ensuring backwards compatibility as the shape of the data evolves over time. We provide that core data engineering task as a service so that clients can focus their internal resources on use cases and alpha generation.”
Through web-delivered APIs, institutions can integrate data using flexible WebSockets streaming for real-time data, REST API access for historical and captured data.
Ediphy VDM also employs a web-interface for easy data exploration and visualisation – including JupyterLab for interactive analysis, allowing users to unlock insights from their data.
