Amy Deming has been named investment director with responsibility for investment controls and operational risk at California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), the US pension giant.
Deming was formerly global head of investment advisory compliance at Allianz Global Investors, where she had worked since 2005, having previously been the firm’s deputy chief compliance officer.
Dan Bienvenue, CalPERS interim chief investment officer said. “Amy’s significant experience in compliance and controls will be invaluable in helping CalPERS achieve its objectives. Her strong track record is a strategic fit and her leadership skills and expertise, as well as her alignment with the CalPERS mission will be central to the success of the Investment Controls and Operational Risk team as well as the CalPERS Investment Office more broadly.”
