Bloomberg has hired Dan Hinxman as head of European credit electronic trading following his departure from Liquidnet last year.

Hinxman was a managing director at Liquidnet’s parent TP ICAP since 2018 and had been at the forefront of several initiatives at the firm, including the TrueQuote pricing service, the launch of Liquidnet’s primary market offering in fixed income and its wider drive into the fixed income space.

Over the past 15 years he has built a strong record in capital markets sales, joining the futures and options sales trading team at broker Newedge in 2008, following a decade as an officer in the British Army.

He went on to work at CME in sales and commercial development, before joining interdealer broker BGC in 2015 as a managing director and head of sales across the EMEA and APAC regions, prior to his appointment at TP ICAP.

Hinxman is well respected by many buy-side traders and his appointment reflects a series of strong hires by Blomberg’s fixed income team over the last six months, including Rob Mitchelson, who was recently hired from BlackRock to be global head of credit and relative value.
