Christie Goncalves has been hired by Rathbones as an assistant portfolio manager (APM), following her departure from Vanguard.
She will operate as APM in the fixed income team run by Bryn Jones, arriving with 15 years of experience in fixed income markets, most recently at Vanguard where she spent eight years as an assistant portfolio manager on global corporate Environment Social and Governance (ESG) funds and ETFs, and as a senior trader focused on European and UK government and corporate bonds.
Prior to this she was an emerging markets trader and portfolio manager for Stanlib in South Africa.
Goncalves has an honours degree in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria , is a CFA Charterholder and holds the Financial Risk Manager qualification.
She has been a vocal representative for the buy-side at industry forums, events and trade associations, and was the winner of ‘Excellence in Trading, Fixed Income’ at the 2022 European Women in Finance Awards.
