Christian Roth joins NTAM from MSIM

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) has appointed Christian Roth as chief investment officer for global fixed income.

In the role, Roth will oversee investment strategy, process and approach for the global fixed income division.

Based in Chicago, he reports to Angelo Manioudakis, global chief investment officer. Roth has more than 35 years of industry experience, and joins the firm from Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He spent almost 25 years with the company, most recently as chairman of broad markets fixed income.

Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles including head of multi-sector fixed income and head of credit and global fixed income. Earlier in his career, Roth was a portfolio manager for fixed income at Miller Anderson & Sherrerd.

Commenting on the appointment, Manioudakis said, “Chris’s hire plays a key role in NTAM’s continued investment in our global fixed income capabilities, talent, and technology, bolstering our ability to continue delivering investment solutions that seek to meet our clients’ needs in all market environments.”
