KNG Securities, the fixed income investment banking boutique, has appointed Latin American (LatAm) specialist Christian Laloe as head of debt capital markets and special situations in Latin America.
The hire is part of KNG’s strategy of expansion in emerging markets. Laloe’s experience in the region, particularly Brazil, should be strategically important to the firm’s growth. KNG Securities specialises in trading illiquid fixed income securities with institutional clients. It has specific expertise in EM debt, which it uses to assist its clients in finding liquidity across challenging and distressed assets.
Christian Laloe joins KNG with over 20 years of experience in Brazilian fixed income. He previously worked at BTG Pactual within their proprietary trading desk. He joins KNG from Globex Advisory, where he advised Brazilian Corporates on tailor-made solutions to optimise their capital structure. The appointment of Christian follows the recent hire of Turkish fixed income expert Cagri Kutman and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) specialist Igor Nartov, further broadening KNG’s bench in emerging markets.
Andrea Podesta, managing partner, says, “Bringing Christian Laloe on board further increases our position within emerging markets. His long-standing relationships across Brazil and the whole LATAM region will be significant additions to the firm and will tie into our growth strategy in this key area. Christian’s experience in advising local corporates on debt restructuring and his expertise in market making for LatAm bonds will be instrumental in improving our footprint in the region.”
Laloe says, “I am extremely pleased to join a firm with such strong growth ambitions. At KNG I will be able to focus on complex situations from both client and issuer perspectives, providing tailor-made solutions for a large number of relationships in Europe and emerging markets. My knowledge of the Brazilian market will further enhance our LATAM network and client base.”
