Multiple sources have confirmed that Rob Mitchelson, formerly Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) head of fixed income and FX trading at BlackRock, is to join Bloomberg. He is reported to be taking a position in Bloomberg’s core fixed income team, which focuses on rates markets.
Mitchelson, who left BlackRock in September after 15 years at the buy-side giant, was promoted to his most recent role at the asset manager in February 2023, working as managing director (MD) and was regional head of EMEA covering rates, fixed income, exchange traded funds (ETFs), credit, emerging markets, FX and systematic trading.
Previously he was responsible for rates trading in the EMEA region as an MD, a position he took in 2020, and 15 years serving as a senior rates trader.
Before joining BlackRock, Mitchelson spent seven years in rates and FX trading at Credit Suisse Asset Management.
