Futures brokerage and clearing firm RJ O’Brien has appointed Amber Wright as head of EMEA sales. She takes on the role in addition to her current responsibilities as managing director and global head of fixed income. She reports to president and chief sales officer Daniel Staniford.

Wright has been with RJ O’Brien since 2019, joining the firm as director of global sales in London. She later became senior director, then executive director and global head of fixed income and e-trading. She relocated to Dubai in 2023 after being named as a managing director.

Before this, Wright was a systematic trader at Capula Investment Management and spent time at Barclays Investment Bank within the fixed income futures RV and options team.

Commenting on her appointment, Wright said: “This dual role presents a unique opportunity to drive our regional sales strategies across all asset classes, whilst we further enhance the success we’ve achieved in our rates business.

“I am excited to leverage our EMEA team’s expertise, build on our strong foundation and explore new growth opportunities across both domains. Together, we will continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners.”

Staniford added: “Amber does a fabulous job in every role she assumes, and we know she will help us further grow the organisation as she assumes these new responsibilities. She’s had a tremendous impact on our growing fixed income offering, and we’re looking forward to benefiting from her leadership in building out our EMEA sales team.”
