BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Alaa Bushehri as head of emerging markets debt. She reports to Olivier de Larouzière, chief investment officer for fixed income.
Bushehri has 20 years of experience, most recently serving as head of emerging markets corporates within BNPP AM’s emerging markets debt division.
She joined the company in 2007 as a credit analyst for global fixed income, before becoming an emerging corporate debt portfolio manager.
Prior to this, Bushehri was a corporate analyst at BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking.
de Larouzière commented, “With her extensive knowledge of the business and her long tenure in the EMD team, Alaa is perfectly placed to further progress our extended Emerging Markets Debt platform, which now includes the local fixed income investment teams across different emerging regions (Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, and Turkey).
