Marc Harrington has been appointed as senior fixed income trader at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Harrington’s carrier as a buy-side bond trader, last saw him lead BMO Global Asset Management’s fixed income dealing team across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) area until March 2017. He had joined BMO in 2002 from Barings, where he had been a fixed income dealer since 1998.
More recently he had worked at interdealer broker BGC Partners, including within its Mint business, in fixed income sales and execution, giving him a level of experience on the sell-side that is rare for a buy-side trader.
He joins the team at Columbia Threadneedle Investments as a senior trader, whose primary responsibility will be high yield trading, as well as providing support for emerging market debt. He will report to Emma Photis, head of fixed income, currency & commodity trading, for EMEA and APAC.
