Citi Markets has named Christopher Chan as head of market solutions for Asia North and Asia South financial institutions, effective July.
Citi reported US$19.8 billion in revenues for its markets business in 2024, up 6% year-on-year. Results were dominated by the fixed income division, reporting US$14.8 billion.
In the newly created role, Chan is responsible for managing the business’s hedging, financing and investment solutions service provisions for clients in the region.
Based in Singapore he reports to Cecile Gambardella, head of markets sales for Japan, Asia North, Australia and Asia South, and Sue Lee, head of markets for Asia South.
Chan has close to three decades of industry experience and joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he has been head of FICC and equity distribution for Southeast Asia for the last 10 years. Prior to this, he held senior roles across banking, solutions and sales at Deutsche Bank and Nomura.
