Securitisation veteran jumps to Piper Sandler

Piper Sandler has appointed Mary Stone as managing director and co-head of the structured finance group.

Based in New York, she shares the role with Chris Howley.

As of August 2024, the investment bank holds more than US$1.6 billion in assets under management.

Mike Piper, managing director and head of non-depository fixed income, commented: “[Stone’s] deep expertise within multiple securitisation markets, whole loan trading, and deal structuring will immediately benefit our clients”

Stone has more than 20 years of industry experience, and joins after three years as head of structured credit banking at StoneX. Prior to this, she was a managing director and Bank of America Merril Lynch for 12 years, covering global mortgages and securities products and leading the residential mortgage-backed securities securitisation and advisory banking division.

Earlier in her career, Stone was a director at ICP Capital and a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers.
