MarketAxess has appointed Roberto Hoornweg to its board of directors, effective 1 March.
On his election, Hoornweg said: “I look forward to helping the firm continue to serve and empower institutional investors and dealers at a time where the appetite for technology and efficiency has never been higher.”
Via LinkedIn, he added: “[I am pleased to] contribute my own passion for innovation and cross-border growth during this exciting, dynamic period.”
Hoornweg has more than 30 years of industry experience and currently serves as co-head of corporate and investment banking at Standard Chartered. He is also CEO of EMEA and the Americas at the firm.
Earlier in his career, Hoornweg was a partner at Brevan Howard Asset Management and held senior roles at UBS Investment Bank and Morgan Stanley.
