WiseAlpha broadens bond access for retail

Retail investors can now access all UK corporate and government bonds through corporate bond investment platform WiseAlpha.

The company first issued fractional bonds in 2016, allowing high net worth individuals to invest in companies without having to meet the £100,000 minimum investment requirement. This is an issue also being tackled by PrimaryBid, where head of fixed income Stacey Parsons highlighted the need for the UK to align with other regions’ approaches to retail capital.

With this latest expansion, all individual investors can access government and corporate debt securities and include them in individual savings accounts with a minimum investment of £100.

Rezaah Ahmad, CEO, commented: “Bonds are not just for institutional investors. The FCA and UK government recently expressed a desire to widen retail participation in this market. The revolution in bond investing is gathering pace and I’m proud that we’re leading from the front.”

Institutional clients can partner with WiseAlpha to offer their clients access to fractional bonds, using its B2B2C solutions.
