TT International picks Jean-Charles Sambor to lead EM debt team

TT International has appointed Jean-Charles Sambor as head of its emerging markets debt division. The group will run EM debt strategies across sovereign and corporate credit, FX and rates.

Eric Mackay, managing director of TT International, said: “The launch of the new EM debt offering builds on longstanding capabilities. The team will help to develop our cross-asset EM leadership, as will the commitment and strong EM presence of our parent, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group.”

A total of six hires make up the team, with Michael Lam joining as a senior trader and Stefan Roessler and Alex Zunega named as portfolio managers in London. Di Wang and Ronald Huang have been appointed senior analysts in Hong Kong. Apart from Wang, the team have all worked together previously at BNPP AM.

Sambor commented: “This team understands each other’s strengths and weaknesses, having cultivated a deep trust that is essential during difficult periods in markets. By working collaboratively to implement an innovative process, the team has delivered strong returns across cycles.”
